The aim behind establishing the School is to make quality education available to the under privileged masses of the society.

       
 
   

The V. M. Public School was established in 1963 by the founder of the Trust Late M. A. Rangoonwala, with classes from Montessori to Matric. It is an English medium, co-educational institution with enrollment of more than 700 students.

The School has achieved remarkable growth and has became a leading educational facility in Karachi. The V. M. Public School was nationalized in 1973 and its medium of instruction was changed. In 1984, it was again privatized and since then the ZVMG Rangoonwala Trust is committed to provide the highest quality of education for all. The Total fee is Rs.300/- per month per student which is further supported by generous scholarships given to the students by the Rangoonwala Trust.

       
 
   
V. M. Public School aims to develop students who will be well educated, highly skilled in communication and analysis; are dynamic, innovative, self assured, self-reliant and eager to learn.
We aim to nurture our students to make them aware of their environment while respecting tradition have a sound code of ethics willingness to contribute and sacrifice for family, community and the country.
In order to achieve our mission objectives, teachers at V.M. Public School have to be well-read, qualified, highly skilled in communication techniques and be computer literate. They have to be innovative and aware of developments in education, seeing themselves as life long learners, teaching by example rather lectures only.
The teachers have to provide a learning environment that is supportive to students giving them flexibility to explore and examine ideas. All teachers must be good citizens, sincere, responsible, helpful and a sense of social responsibility should be important to them.
The curriculum offered seeks the over all development o f its students. All subjects prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education are taught in English except for Urdu and  Islamiat. Special arrangements have been made for the teaching of Holy Quran.
Sports is an integral part of the school day. Cricket, throw ball, Table Tennis, Badminton and other games are played on the ample school campus.
The school has its own band. They display their skills during the morning assembly. They are also invited to enliven the various national and community occasions.
Each class goes on an educational field trip every year. The entire cost of these excursions are borne by the school.
The criteria to judge the performance of any school are its annual Board Examination results. The results of V. M. Public School are very good and success rate averages between 89 ~ 97%.
The Principal Ms. Zia Halai has been associated with the field of education for the last 30 years. The Principal has two co-ordinators to help her supervise the Primary and Secondary sections. The school has 40 teachers for each and every subject and support staff of 12 assistants working under them.
All the teachers are very well educated having sufficient experience and are innovative.
In order to impart quality education, the number of students per class never exceeds 30. The teacher student ratio is 17:1.
The school campus is spread over an area of 5762 Sq.Yards. The original building houses the Secondary section, Pre-Primary section, a Large auditorium, a computer room, laboratory and the administrative block. Recently a four storied M.A. Rangoonwala Primary School building is added to exclusively house the Primary section.
It is an ideal school campus with spacious well lit and airy class rooms. The furniture is designed according to the age level of the students.
      
The top three students in each class are awarded a prize on the day of their final examination results. The students who secures the highest marks in SSC Board examination in Arts and Science are awarded the M. A. Rangoonwala Gold Medal and Cash prize.
Every year a teacher from each section i.e., Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle and Secondary is selected for their devotion and dedication to duty and awarded a "Teacher of the Year" trophy.
Generous prizes are also given to students who win the various Inter House competition like English & Urdu debates, Naat & Qirat.

The school is over seen by a three member School Board chaired by Mr. Tariq Rangoonwala who is also a Senior Trustee of the Rangoonwala Trust. The other two members are Mr. Saeed A. B. Mirza, Director, Rangoonwala Community Centre and Ms. Zia Halai, Principal V. M. Public School.
